Founded in 1968, the Tobago Branch of the TTSPCA is a privately
run, non-profit organisation whose main aim is to prevent
cruelty to animals. Staffed by three full time and four
part time employees, it relies heavily on the services of
dedicated volunteers. We attempt to locate owners of lost
animals, re-home strays, rescue unwanted animals and endeavour
to educate the public on caring for animals. Funding comes
mainly from legacies, donations, grants and regular fund-raising
activities. All monies received go towards operating costs
and are of great assistance, as costs continue to rise.
Donation boxes can be found at some stores and hotels and
at Crown Point airport.
On specified dates in 2010 and beyond, the Society has FREE
ongoing spaying programmes called SPOTT (Spaying Prevents
Overpopulation in T&T) whereby female dogs are spayed and
male dogs neutered using Tobagonian and visiting vets. All
pet owners on the island are invited to participate. Situated
close to Dwight Yorke Stadium, Clinics operate Mon-Fri 9
am to 4 pm & Sat until 12.30 pm.
